Chau Van Singing Club Forms in Hanoi

Chau Van Singing Club (full name: Vietnam's Chau Van arts preservation club) has officially been established on March 21st at Luu Phai Temple, Thanh Tri, Hanoi with hundreds of participants, including many artists and researchers on the field.

Chau Van Singing Club (full name: Vietnam's Chau Van arts preservation club) has officially been established on March 21st at Luu Phai Temple, Thanh Tri, Hanoi with hundreds of participants, including many artists and researchers on the field.

Professor Ngo Duc Thinh, who chaired the club, spoke with hope that the appearance of this club will help create a common ground for both professional and fresh Chau Van artists, those following Mother Goddesses beliefs in Vietnam and cultural authors to gather, cherish and preserve this special form of arts. Besides that, it is also an opportunity for Chau Van to pass on from generation to generation. 

Chau Van singing is closely attached to spiritual procession of a considerable portion of Vietnamese. Recently much effort from cultural authority and those will a passion has been made to help retain the essence of many disappearing art forms, including Chau Van.
