Biggest museum in Tây Nguyên opens to public

Tây Nguyên, the Central Highlands of Vietnam is well-known as the landscape of wild nature, home to a large population of ethnic minorities, and coffee metropolis of Vietnam.Tourists come to Tây Nguyên not only to enjoy imposing natural sceneries but also explore distinctive cultural values of indigenous communities. 
 
With the purpose to honor and present the beauty of nature and people in Tây Nguyên, Dak Lak Musem has been opened to the public on November 21, 2011 in Dak Lak town.This is the biggest museum in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, with the total area of 9200m2 and total investment of VND 80 billions. The museum is built under the collaboration of French museum experts and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.

Dak Lak Museum is designed based on the unique architecture of traditional long house of Ede people, the biggest ethnic minority in Dak Lak. The museum is divided into three display spaces, correspondingly to three topics: biological diversity, ethnic culture, and history. 
 
At the present, there are more than 1000 artifacts, a number of photos and documentary films being displayed in the museum, which give visitors an insight into the wild nature, distinctive cultural values and the history of Tây Nguyên. This is also the first museum in Vietnam using four displaying languages (Vietnamese, English, French and Ede). The museum is expected to be a prominent tourism attraction in the highlands.
