Local archeologists in Hue City have discovered an ancient stele which is estimated to be more than two hundred years old. The artifact was found near a hot spring in Duong Hoa Commune, Huong Thuy Town.

With its dimension of 1.5m of height and 1m of width, the stele contains a poem written by King Thieu Tri, the third king of Nguyen Dynasty, about the magnificence of the hot spring here in 19th Century, praisingit as one of 20 most beautiful sites in Hue. The artifact also shows that this is the resting place of the King.

This finding contributes significantly to giant treasures of historical relics and artifacts found in and around Hue City recent years.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, the director of Hue Relics and Preservation Centre, the stele is exhibited and conserved at the Hue Relics Museum for public audiences to admire.
