33% increase of international tourists recorded in Quang Ninh

According to Quang Ninh's Department of Sports, Culture and tourism, the province has welcomed over 800,000 international visitors, an increase of 33% compared with the same period in 2011. Possessing the famous world heritage Halong Bay and many other emerging attractions such as Yen Tu Spiritual Complex and Van Don beach, Quang Ninh hails as one of the most tourism-rich provinces in Vietnam.

As the tourism department is currently busy preparing for Halong Carnival from April 22-30, more and more tourists are cruising the bay and exploring the caves on a daily basis.

Not only Quang Ninh but Vietnam's tourism itself is seeing many positive signs as it concludes the first quarter of 2012. The number of international visitors in March increases about 18.7% compared with March 2011, making the total international arrivals first three month step ahead 24.5% compared with last year. Nationalities that see the largest rise come mainly from Asia, including China, South Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia.
