2nd Rice Festival held in Soc Trang City

Information from Soc Trang City says that Vietnam Rice Festival is going to be held in the province from 8 to 11 November. The main purpose of this event is to appreciate the agricultural civilization in Cuu Long River Delta and other rice zones in Vietnam, as well as to introduce high quality agricultural products of Vietnam to international partners.

The festival this year is series of various activities including science conferences on Vietnam’s rice and agricultural civilization, exhibitions of agricultural tools and stage performances that are closely related to agricultural tradition in Cuu Long River Delta.

In addition to these activities, there are also several cultural competitions consisting of Writing Competition about Bai Xau, photographic competitions target at Vietnam’s Rice on climate change and competitions on rice quality as well as beauty of women in this area.

This is the second time the festival is organized in Vietnam. The first one was held in Hau Giang last year from 28 November to 2 December, right on crucial agricultural path on Cuu Long River Delta. This is considered an important event to promote and introduce Vietnam’s agriculture to international market.
