History timeline

1945: Ministry of Labour was founded

1946: Ministry of Social Affair was set up

1947: Ministry of Invalids and Veterans was established

1975: Ministry of Invalids and Veteran and Ministry of Social A

ffair were unified, leading to the establishment of the Ministry of Invalids and Social Affair.

1987: Ministry of Ministry of Labour- Invalids and Social Affairs was set up. The new ministry is the merger of the Ministry of Invalids and Social Affair and the Ministry of Labour.

Duties and Organization structure

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) is a Governmental body, performs the State management function on the areas of: employment, vocational training, labour, salary, social insurance (compulsory social insurance, voluntary social insurance and unemployment insurance), occupational safety, the People with Special Contribution to the Country, social protection, children protection & care, gender equality, social evil prevention in the whole country; and exercises the State management role to the sector of public services within the responsible scope of the Ministry.

There are a large number of branches and fields under the supervision of Molisa. Firstly, eighteen State Management Agencies are responsible for assisting the Minister in execution of the state management role in the certain areas such as Labour and Salary, Social Insurance, Overseas Labour, Employment and Gender Equality. Secondly, seven Functional Units have diversified roles of carrying out strategic and applicable research, providing professionally and theoretical communication, conducting information and propaganda activities or appealing for local and international financial assistance. Furthermore, there are also thirty four Public Service Organizations under the supervision of the Ministry, the majority are universities, colleges and training centers where offer tertiary education as well as vocational training for future official staff of the Ministry. Lastly, sixty provincial Department of the MOLISA along the country take the accountability of handling related problems at the departmental-level.
